Student Accounts

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.

Fall 2009 REFUND SCHEDULE

REFUND DEADLINES ARE DIFFERENT FROM CENSUS DEADLINES!!!

Deadlines Date
Deadline to withdraw from all units and receive 100% refund minus $25 processing fee September 23, 2009
Deadline to reduce units and receive 100% of difference in fees minus $25 processing fee. After October 7, 2009 a reduction in units will NOT create a credit for resident and non-resident students. October 7, 2009
Deadline to withdraw from ALL units and receive a Prorated Refund November 10, 2009
Number of Days in quarter 80 Days

How to Calculate Pro-Rated Refund:

  1. Count the number of days from date session begins to date of actual withdrawal date.
  2. Divide the number of days by 78, (the number of days in the quarter) and get a percentage, and then multiply it by actual fees paid to get your prorated fee.
  3. Subtract pro-rated fee from actual fees paid. This will be your refund, minus an administrative charge.

Example:

  1. Jim, a graduate, withdraws from all his classes (5 days).
  2. 5 ÷ 78 = 6.41%: 6.41% x $1,487.50 = $95.34
  3. $1,487.50 - $95.34 -$25 Admin Fee = $1,367.16

PLEASE NOTE: For instructions on dropping and withdrawing from classes, please see the REGISTRATION section in the Spring Class Schedule. IF YOU ARE DROPPING TO ZERO UNITS, YOU MUST CONSULT THE REGISTRATION OFFICE.
